The State Government has appointed Mark Duffy, former Chief Executive of the Department for Innovation and Skills, to a newly created role overseeing public sector performance and reform.
As a result of Mr Duffy's new role Adam Reid will become acting Chief Executive of the Department for Innovation and Skills.
"I look forward to working with Mr Duffy to reform the operation of the public sector to reflect the evolving nature of work and deliver better outcomes for the people of South Australia," said Premier Steven Marshall.
"Mr Duffy's new role will sit within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and report to its Chief Executive Mr Jim McDowell.
"Mr Duffy will also support Mr McDowell in his role as Assistant State Co-ordinator, responsible for leading the state's economic rebuilding and recovery work in relation to COVID-19."
Premier Marshall said he looks forward to working with Mr Reid to deliver the Government's agenda of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, providing the skills required by industry, growing the South Australian economy, and creating more jobs.
"The State Government has a strong plan to deal with the current health and economic challenges posed by COVID-19, and the Department for Innovation and Skills will be a key economic agency in driving the response and recovery of businesses and their workers in our state," Premier Marshall said.
"Mr Reid is a knowledgeable and accomplished executive with significant experience in the private and public sectors."
Prior to his current role, Mr Reid held executive positions in the Department of State Development and Department of Trade and Economic Development, where he led industry development policy and strategy implementation, small business and investment management.
Mr Reid has also worked in retail banking with Westpac Banking Corporation.
