A man has been charged over alleged break and enter offences in the states west.
On Wednesday 24 May 2023, officers attached to New England Police District commenced an investigation after a vehicle was allegedy stolen from a caravan park on Amaroo Drive, Moree.
The vehicle was later located abandoned and burnt out on George Street.
A crime scene was established and the vehicle was forensically examined.
On Tuesday 27 February 2024, officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command received reports of an alleged break and enter at a home on Hargrave Street, Leumeah.
Later that same day, police received reports that a persons bag was allegedly stolen at a hotel on Railway Street, Campbelltown. A credit card from the bag was allegedly used to make several purchases.
In August 2024, two separate warrants were issued by Campbelltown Local Court and Moree Local Court for the arrest of a 37-year-old man.
On Thursday 5 March 2026, officers attached to New England Police District commenced investigations after two homes were broken into in Moree on Thursday 5 March 2026.
About 11.40am on the 9 March 2026, investigators attended a home in Moree, and with the assistance of a remotely-piloted drone, the 37-year-old man was arrested in a nearby property.
He was taken to Moree Police Station, where two outstanding warrants were executed.
The Moree man was charged with;
- larceny value less than equal to $2000 (two counts),
- enter vehicle or boat without consent of owner,
- break & enter house etc steal value <= $60,000,
- steal property in dwelling-house more than $ 2000 & less than equal to $ 5000,
- steal property in dwelling-house,
- steal from the person value less than equal to $2000, and
- dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Division Court 5 today (Tuesday 10 March 2026).
