Drug and gun arrests, Gold Coast

Two men have been charged by officers from Taskforce Papa Trench after drug, weapons and around $53,000 cash were allegedly located at a Biggera Waters unit yesterday, Queensland Police say.

Around 8.45am a search warrant was executed on the East Quay Drive premises where a number of firearms, ammunition, cocaine, steroids and 14 cannabis plants were allegedly located.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, four counts of possession of a dangerous drug and one count each of possess property used in commission of a crime namely drugs, possess property suspected of being proceeds of a crime, supply dangerous drug and received tainted property and possess explosives (ammunition).

A 22-year-old man have been charged with four counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, three counts of possession of a dangerous drug and one count each of received tainted property.

Both men are due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
