Drug charges at Chevron Island, QLD

A tip-off through Crime Stoppers led police to a residence at Chevron Island today where drugs and money were located, Queensland Police say.

Around 7.30am, the Gold Coast Rapid Action Patrol executed a search warrant at a Mawarra Street address, allegedly locating a substantial quantity of powder and organic drug materials with various drug smoking utensils and property indicative of drug supply, including a quantity of cash in 50 and 100 denominations.

A 44-year-old man from Chevron Island has been charged with eight drug related offences and is due to face Southport Magistrates Court on October 12, 2017.

Further investigations are being conducted by police, with more charges expected in coming weeks.
