Police have located a large drug laboratory capable of producing significant quantities of the dangerous drug Gamma hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) in Molendinar, Queensland Police say.
Earlier this afternoon, detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) executed a search warrant at an Expansion Drive address as part of an operation targeting the supply of dangerous drugs.
Officers located a large, illicit drug production laboratory able to produce hundreds of litres of the dangerous drug GHB at a time.
A significant quantity of chemicals used in the production of GHB were also seized along with a number of firearms, ammunition and equipment allegedly used to construct firearms.
Three men were taken into custody and are currently assisting police with their enquiries.
The success of this operation will mean a significant downturn in the availability of GBH on the Gold Coast.
