Drug operation closure in Bundaberg, QLD

Detectives from the Wide Bay Burnett District have charged 100 people with 192 offences following the closure of Operation Papa Advance, targeting drug and property crime in the district, Queensland Police say.

The operation ran from May to June 2017, involving officers from units across the Bundaberg Patrol Group as well as additional police from the Central Police Region.

Of the 100 people, 49 were charged with drug related offences.

A 25-year-old Norville man has been charged with 13 counts of supplying dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing things used in connection with dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Bishop, Officer in Charge, Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch said operation Papa Advance was extremely successful.

"Similar operations will be conducted in the future to enhance the safety and of the local community, with a further emphasis on high visibility policing activities," said Detective Senior Sergeant Bishop.

All of the persons charged are to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Courts within the next month.
