Drug supply arrest in Griffith

Police in Griffith have arrested and charged a man following investigations into mid-level drug supply, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Sedgewick was established by the Griffith Proactive Investigations Unit last month to investigate the mid-level supply of methylamphetamine (’ice’) in the local area.

Just after 2pm today, a 37-year-old man was arrested in Coolah Street, Griffith.

Police will allege the man was in possession of about 7g of methylamphetamine and 85.5g of cannabis.

A search warrant was also conducted on the man’s home where police seized 3.5g of methylamphetamine.

The man was taken to Griffith Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), three counts of supply prohibited drug, and two counts of possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Griffith Local Court tomorrow.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to drug supply to call Crime Stoppers.
