Drug trafficking charges at Airlie Beach, QLD

Whitsunday detectives have charged a man with a number of drug offences following the execution of a search warrant at Airlie Beach on Tuesday (July 18), Queensland Police say.

It is alleged at about 3.30pm at a Hermitage Drive address police located a large amount of cannabis, a quantity of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and cash in excess of $45000.

A 44-year-old Airlie Beach man has been charged with one count each of trafficking in dangerous drugs, supplying dangerous drugs, possessing property obtained from trafficking and possessing a drug utensil. The man has also been charged with two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing things used in the commission of a crime.

The man appeared in the Proserpine Magistrates Court today and is next due to appear on September 4.
