Drugs and weapons arrest in Brighton, QLD

Police have charged a man overnight after the alleged discovery of illicit drugs, weapons and cash in Brighton yesterday, Queensland Police say.

Shortly before midday, officers were called following a disturbance at a Beaconsfield Terrace address.

During investigations police located a quantity of methylamphetmines, cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

Also located were three Tasers disguised as mobile phones and a quantity of cash.

A 29-year-old Brighton man has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possess utensils, possession of property suspected of being proceeds under the Drugs Misuse Act, unlawful possession of a controlled drug, unlawful possession of a weapon Category D/H/R and contravention of a Domestic Violence order.

He is expected to appear in the Sandgate Magistrates Court on July 17.
