Drugs, contraband seized during joint operation at correctional facility in South Nowra

Police have seized prohibited drugs and contraband during a joint operation at a correctional facility on the state’s south coast, NSW Police say.

Officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command and NSW Corrective Services conducted a joint operation at the facility on The Links Road at South Nowra about 8am today (Sunday 3 December 2017).

During the operation 19 people and nine vehicles were searched, resulting in the seizure of prohibited drugs and tobacco, along with ammunition and prescription drugs.

Ten people were issued court attendance notices for offences including:

- Bring contraband into place of detention;

- Bring drug into place of detention;

- Drive whilst cancelled; and

- Possess prescribed restricted substance.

All those issued court notices are due to appear at Nowra Local Court on 15 January 2018.
