A man has been charged with multiple offences, and police have seized firearms and drugs from a car stopped in the state's Riverina yesterday.
Officers attached to Riverina Highway Patrol were patrolling the Hume Highway at Mount Adrah about 2.30pm yesterday (Thursday 4 June 2026), when they detected a driver allegedly travelling 145km/h in a 110km/h signposted area.
The driver – a 36-year-old man – stopped as directed and officers subsequently searched the vehicle, allegedly located and seizing six gel blaster pistols, ammunition, 12 grams of cocaine, 1.3 grams of methylamphetamine, and $48000 cash.
The man was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he was charged with
- Two counts of possess loaded firearm public place
- Possess more than three unregistered firearms, one is prohibited or pistol
- Not keep firearm safely-pistol
- Acquire firearm without licence or permit-pistol
- Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
- Supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity
- Possess prohibited drug
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and
- Possess counterfeit money (not excepted counterfeit coin).
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 5 today (Friday 5 June 2026).
