Drugs, gun seized, two charged in Claymore

Police have charged two men after they were allegedly caught with drugs and a firearm in Sydney’s south west yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 12pm on Tuesday 6 September 2016, officers from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command were patrolling Earle Way, Claymore, when they approached a vehicle and spoke to two men.

Police will allege a 52-year-old man was holding a bag containing a powdered substance while the 33-year-old man held cash.

The older man fled from the scene and a short foot pursuit commenced. The man was arrested and police identified the powder as ‘ICE.’

Police conducted a search of the 33-year-old man and the vehicle and allegedly located drugs, a firearm, mobile phone and $910 in cash.

He was arrested and taken to Macquarie Fields police station where he was charged with possess prohibited firearm, supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, deal with proceeds of crime, possess restricted substances.

The man was bail refused to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.

The 52-year-old man was issued a field court attendance notice for possess prohibited drug.
