Drugs located following unit fire in Cabramatta

A man will face court today on multiple drug offences following the execution of a search warrant in south-west Sydney, NSW Police say.

Just after 11am today, emergency services were called to a unit on Kurrajong Street, Cabramatta, following reports of a small fire, which was extinguished a short time later.

Officers attached to Cabramatta Local Area Command established a crime scene and allegedly located a large amount of drug paraphernalia.

A short time later, police conducted a further search of the premises and allegedly located a crystal substance believed to be methylamphetamine, a white powder believed to be heroin, cannabis, methadone, and mobile phones.

All items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
