Drugs seized after vehicle stop, man charged, NSW

A man has been charged with drug offences as investigations under Strike Force Vidilini continue, NSW Police say.

Officers from Newcastle Police District established Strike Force Vidilini in September 2017 to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs throughout the region.

Following inquiries, police stopped a vehicle on Burwood Road, Kahibah, about 4.25pm today (Thursday 22 February 2018) to speak with the driver.

During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located drugs, believed to be methamphetamine.

They were seized and will undergo forensic analysis.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged with possess drug and drive with expired licence.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 15 March 2018.
