A man has been charged after drugs were located during a vehicle stop on the states mid north coast yesterday, NSW Police say.
About 9.05am yesterday, police from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a Honda CRV on the Pacific Highway, Johns River.
The driver, a 55-year-old man was wanted for an outstanding arrest warrant relating to alleged drug offences.
The man was arrested and during a search of the vehicle, police allegedly located an amount of Cannabis in the boot.
He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station and charged with supply cannabis and the outstanding warrant.
He is expected to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court today.
The NSW Police CATCH program trains officers in the detection and inception of illicit drugs being transported on our roads.
Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy of the state's Traffic and Highway Patrol Command said the arrest was further proof that CATCH training continues to detect those that use our highways to commit crime, reducing the risk to others by taking Cannabis and other drugs off the street.
Since the inception of the CATCH program, over $110 million dollars worth of drugs, guns, cash, stolen goods, and other contraband has been taken off our roads.
