Drummoyne, Cabarita Pools Reopen for Summer Season

Drummoyne and Cabarita Swimming Centres have reopened for the summer season, just in time for the warmer weather. Known as two of Sydney's most picturesque seasonal outdoor pools, both facilities welcomed swimmers back last month.

Each centre features a 50-metre saltwater pool regulated at 27°C throughout the season, as well as toddler pools, making them ideal for families to enjoy.

At Cabarita Swimming Centre, upgrades carried out over the off-season included repairs to the access ramp and handrails on the balcony, along with the installation of two additional floodlights at the southern end of the pool to improve safety and accessibility for visitors.

Drummoyne Swimming Centre has also seen major improvements with the installation of 88 rooftop solar panels. The system generates enough clean energy to cover the centre's electricity consumption for an entire year, reducing reliance on the grid and lowering the facility's environmental footprint.

This makes Drummoyne the eleventh Council facility to be fitted with rooftop solar panels. Expanding renewable energy use across Council sites helps cut carbon emissions and keeps the City of Canada Bay on track to achieve net zero emissions from operations by 2030.
