Eight arrested during Operation Disrupt - Police Transport & Public Safety Command, NSW

Eight people have been arrested during a Police Transport & Public Safety Command operation targeting anti- social behaviour and alcohol related crime, NSW Police say.

Operation Disrupt was conducted by the North West Sector of the Police Transport & Public Safety Command with the assistance of the Nepean Police Area Command, North West Metropolitan Highway Patrol and the Marine Area Command.

A high-visibility operation targeting anti-social behaviour and alcohol-related crime on the rail transport network, roads, licensed premises in the Nepean Police Area Command, including marine vessels on the Nepean River.

The operation started at 10am on Saturday 10 March and concluded at 12.30am on Sunday 11 March 2018.

Police arrested eight people during the operation, for offences including steal motor vehicle, carried in conveyance, receive stolen property and goods suspected stolen in/on premises, possess prohibited weapon x 2, suspended driver x 2, arrest warrant and low range PCA.

Police also issued 35 traffic infringement notices, 12 transport infringement notices, and 10 move-on directions.

More than 85 random breath tests were conducted, eight drug tests and 13 breath tests were also conducted on marine vessels.

Eleven trains and five railway stations were patrolled. Eleven licensed premises were inspected.

Similar operations will be conducted in the future.
