A search warrant has uncovered a sophisticated hydroponic cannabis set up in the Illawarra today, NSW Police say.
About 11.30am today, investigators from Wollongong Local Area Command executed a search warrant at premises on the Princes Highway at Unanderra.
Once inside, officers allegedly located an elaborate hydroponic set up containing over 240 mature cannabis plants and associated equipment used in the cultivation of cannabis.
The plants have an estimated potential street value of over $720,000.
A crime scene was established with specialist forensic officers in attendance.
Police are examining several lines of inquiry into the matter and are urging anyone with information to contact Wollongong Detectives or Crime Stoppers.
