Elderly man dies after being hit by SUV in townhouse driveway - Cabramatta

A man has died after he was hit by a SUV in the driveway of his home in Cabramatta yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a block of six townhouses in Hill Street Cabramatta about 5pm (Wednesday 23 October 2019), after the 85-year-old resident was hit by the vehicle which was being reversed down the driveway.

It's believed the man had just collected his mail and was walking back to his home when he was struck; he sustained critical head injuries and died in Liverpool Hospital.

The driver, a 38-year-old woman, was also taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

Four children in the SUV at the time three girls – aged 16, 12 and four – and a three-year-old boy, were not injured.

The SUV has been towed for forensic examination.

Inquiries are continuing by officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.
