An investigation is underway following a hit and run in Sydney's south.
About 2.20pm today (Thursday 9 April 2026), emergency services were called to Forest Road, Bexley, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a truck.
Officers attached to St George Police Area Command attended and found a man – believed to be in his 80s – with serious injuries and were told the truck left the scene prior to police arrival.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he later died.
He has yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene has been established and investigations commenced into the circumstances of the crash.
Forest Road, Bexley, between Harrow and Stoney Creek Road remain closed and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
Investigations are ongoing.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
