Electric scooter stolen in armed robbery - Surry Hills

A man will face court today after an alleged armed robbery in Sydney city overnight.

About 9.45pm (Thursday 19 November 2020), police attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command attended a unit on Wilton Street, Surry Hills, following reports of a robbery.

Police have been told, a man, allegedly armed with a knife threatened the occupant before stealing an electric scooter and a bag.

Following inquiries, officers arrested a 38-year-old man at a property in Riley Street, Surry Hills, shortly after 10pm. All property was recovered, including a passport that was found in the toilet system.

The man was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and breaching a community corrections order.

He was refused bail and will appear at Central Local Court today (Friday 20 November 2020).
