Emergency Crews Responding To House Fire, Abergowrie

Police are investigating a fire that damaged a property in Abergowrie yesterday morning, 24 July.

Shortly before 8:30am, police and emergency services were called to Copleys Road following reports that a house and two vehicles had been extensively damaged by fire.

A 79-year-old man sustained serious burn injuries and was transported to Townsville University Hospital in a serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

Police are appealing to anyone with information, or relevant CCTV, dashcam or other vision, to come forward.
