Emergency services at scene of Bankstown warehouse fire

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a large warehouse fire at Bankstown.

About 10.40am today (Saturday 31 October 2020), officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to a warehouse at Homedale Road, Bankstown, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW are at the scene as the operation to extinguish the fire continues.

No injuries have been reported; however, the warehouse, and nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Once the scene has been declared safe, specialist forensic officers and fire investigators will examine the scene.

Local road closures are in place and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
