Emergency situation (PSPA) revoked: Gas leak at Maryborough

Police have revoked an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to a major gas leak at Maryborough this morning.

Officers were called to Kent Street around 11.20am following reports of a ruptured gas main.

The PSPA was declared at 12.02pm and an exclusion zone was put in place in the immediate vicinity.

The exclusion zone encompassing Kent and Adelaide Streets, Lennox, John and Ellena Streets and the Woolworths carpark has now been reopened and the PSPA declaration revoked at 3.05pm.

Lennox Street remains closed between Kent and Ellena Streets.
