Entries open for GoFish Nagambie 2020

Entries are now open for the second annual GoFish Nagambie, one of the most anticipated weekends on the Aussie fishing calendar.

With the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool and the famous $80,000 jackpot to the angler who reels in the largest Murray Cod, it's no surprise that entries are motoring out the door.

GoFish Nagambie Chief Executive Rod Lockwood and Aussie fishing icon Paul Worsteling from IFISH TV officially launched the entries to the public on Thursday.

"GoFish Nagambie is genuinely like nothing else out there - yes, the competition has an unprecedented cash and prize offering, unmatched within the industry but the festival is just as much of a draw card," Mr Lockwood said.

"With the $80,000 lure, not to mention the yet to be released prizes, it comes as no surprise that over 50% of boating entries sold in the first 48-hours of being on sale," Rod said.

Mr Lockwood thanked the Victorian Government for their ongoing support.

"Our 2019 inaugural GoFish Nagambie was a huge success, largely due to the vision and support of the Victorian Government and Strathbogie Shire Council," Rod said.

Strathbogie Shire Mayor Cr Amanda McClaren said Nagambie is a fantastic destination for all things fishing, boating and enjoying the great outdoors.

"Nagambie is a wonderful destination to enjoy the great outdoors, just 90 minutes from Melbourne, and GoFish Nagambie is another incentive to come and visit this beautiful part of Victoria," Mayor McClaren said.

"From the competition and chance to win the $80,000, to the festival and the wineries, walks and quality dining experiences Nagambie has to offer, there really is something for the whole family."

Four-day festival and three-day competition entries are $160.
