Erratic driver arrested in Braeside

An erratic driver was arrested in Braeside this morning after he attempted to run from police following a crash.

It is alleged the man, who was driving a silver BMW, crashed into a parked vehicle on Reid Street in Parkdale around 7.22am.

The vehicle then allegedly ran a red light, before colliding with a vehicle at the intersection of Boundary and Lower Dandenong roads in Parkdale around 7.45am.

Attending police arrested the man as he tried to run from the scene.

A subsequent search of the vehicle located an amount of cash and alleged drugs.

Nobody was injured in the incidents, and police are investigating whether the BMW was also involved in other crashes in the area.

The 28-year-old Springvale man remains in hospital under police guard.

It is expected he will be interviewed in relation to drug and driving offences.
