Escapee arrested by police in Albury

An interstate escapee will face court tomorrow in Albury after being recaptured by police at Albury, NSW Police say.

During Monday 16 April 2018 a 27-year-old man allegedly escaped from a correctional facility in Victoria.

The man was serving a sentence for vehicle theft and driving offences.

Earlier today (Tuesday 17 April 2018), officers from Murray River Police District attended a home in Albury.

At the residence they located the 27-year-old man who was arrested without incident.

He was conveyed to Albury Police Station where he was charged with an apprehension warrant issued in another state.


The man was refused bail and will appear at Albury Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 18 April 2018).
