Event grants available- International Day of People with a Disability

Bayside not-for-profit community groups are invited to apply for Council's Events and Festivals grant of up to $1000 to host COVID-safe events to celebrate this year's International Day of People with a Disability.

International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), held on 3 December each year, celebrates the achievements and contributions of people with disability and promotes awareness, understanding and acceptance in the community.

Community groups such as disability peer support groups, kindergartens, scout groups and community centres are encouraged to consider running a COVID-safe celebration.

You might like to host a guest speaker to share their story, acknowledge the achievements of people with disability in some way, or run an online art show or performance.

There is a handy Event Planning Kit for Community Groups on the IDPWD website.

Applying community groups must consider current government restrictions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic prior to submitting an application.

Bayside's Events and Festival grants are open now.
