As stated by Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Selena Uibo:

TheTerritory Labor Governments Aboriginal Affairs agenda is centred onempowerment, local decision making, self-determination and ensuring land andsea ownership delivers on economic and social aspirations.

We aresupporting local decision making in remote communities, because local decisionsare the best decisions, and this draft 10 year Aboriginal Affairs Strategy, EveryoneTogether, reflects that policy.

Weare also investing $1.1 billion in remote housing over 10 years, to reduceovercrowding, with 1500 homes completed in three years.

Weare investing in the expansion of early childhood services in remotecommunities, to give all children, no matter where they live, the best start inlife.

Investingin Aboriginal Affairs not only benefits Aboriginal Territorians, it benefitsall Territorians.

Iencourage everyone to have a look at the draft Everyone Togetherstrategy, and to have their say to guide the final version.
