Starting in December, East Gippsland Shire Council will transition to a new procurement system, VendorPanel, which is a secure, web-based platform used by governments and organisations across Australia to simplify and manage procurement from local and pre-qualified suppliers.
The rollout of VendorPanel will be staged from December this year, with Council's public quotes and tenders moving from the current TenderLink system to VendorPanel at that time.
From March 2026, Council will use VendorPanel to advertise most quotations for goods, services, and works. Businesses are encouraged to register on VendorPanel as early as possible.
If you already work with Council, or are interested in submitting quotes for future work, please register with VendorPanel by the end of November. This will ensure you have access to all opportunities, whether issued as a request for quote (RFQ) or request for tender (RFT).
Mayor Cr John White said the move would make the procurement process more accessible and consistent for all suppliers.
"We're committed to making it easier and fairer for businesses to work with us," Cr White said.
"VendorPanel is easy to use and helps local suppliers connect with opportunities, while ensuring Council maintains high standards of transparency and compliance. We strongly encourage local businesses of all sizes to register and explore what's available."
Registration is free. Businesses simply select their relevant service categories and, then receive email notifications whenever new opportunities are published, either by Council or other organisations using the platform.
