Explorers Way Adventure on the Agenda for UK/Europe Tourism Roadshow

Ten local tourism operators will be showcasing what the Territory has to offer to holidaymakers from the United Kingdom and Europe as part of the inaugural Explorers Way New Experiences Roadshow.

Developed by Tourism NT in partnership with the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC), the roadshow will roll through London, Manchester, Zurich and Munich from 25 February to 2 March promoting the iconic Explorers Ways touring route.

The UK and Europe remain key international markets for Territory tourism; the roadshow aims to provide key product decision makers, Aussie Specialist agents and travel trade media with new and exciting reasons to sell the Northern Territory and South Australia to holidaymakers.

Over the six days, 10 South Australian and 10 Northern Territory tourism operators will meet with some 300 Product Managers, frontline agents and media for one-on-one business meetings, training presentations and networking events.

Funded through the Territory Labor Governments $103 million Turbocharging Tourism stimulus package, the Explorers Way New Experiences Roadshow complements joint marketing campaigns delivered in the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy by Tourism NT and SATC.

  • Outback Cycling Group

For the year ending September 2018, Tourism Research Australia data showed that international visitation delivered $414 million in visitor expenditure, demonstrating the value of our key source markets which include the USA, UK, Europe, Greater China and Japan.

As stated by Acting Minister for Tourism, Sport and Culture, Eva Lawler

The United Kingdom and European markets continue to be a focus for the Territory attracting more than 142,000 visitors annually, injecting millions into the economy and creating local jobs.

It is important that we maintain strong relationships with our trade and media partners as well as introduce fresh tourism offerings.

This strategic partnership between Tourism NT and SATC has created a foundation for collaboration and joint investment, championing one of Australias most epic touring routes the Explorers Way, an iconic Australian tourism experience.

Were excited to be showcasing new tourism experiences to key distribution partners in our mature markets and collaborating with the South Australian Tourism Commission will surely create a buzz within the travel trade, resulting in better quality buyers and appointments.

The natural beauty and splendour of the Northern Territory are second to none and my outback lifestyle, helicopter skills and passion for wildlife has led me to create some of the most unique adventure tourism products in the world.
