  • Every small business should be encouraged to take full advantage of support
  • Labor welcomes the announcement that the second round of the Small Business Continuity Grant Program has been extended for another four weeks.

Shadow Minister for Small Business Anita Dow said it is important that all Tasmanian small businesses who have been impacted by the pandemic have access to additional support and expertise at this incredibly difficult time.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented pressure on Tasmanian businesses, and it is important that everyone who has been impacted receives the support they deserve.

"The four-week extension gives more businesses the opportunity and time to benefit from the Small Business Continuity Grant program and the advice and professional expertise currently available through the program.

"It is important the government promotes these grants to all small businesses across Tasmania, to ensure the program provides the greatest benefit to the state's economy.

"I urge any small business in Tasmania yet to receive funding from the Small Business Continuity Grants program to apply."
