Extreme fire danger is forecast over the coming days for the Greater Hunter region, which includes Lake Macquarie.
The NSW Rural Fire Service is urging residents to stay alert, monitor fire and weather conditions, and put their bushfire survival plan into action.
High temperatures, strong winds and dry conditions increase the risk of bushfires spreading quickly and unpredictably. If you live near bushland or grassland, make sure you know what to do if a fire starts.
