Fake Money At Kingaroy

Police are investigating following reports of fake $50 and $100 notes being circulated throughout Kingaroy over the past two weeks.

Police have received reports of the fake notes being used to make purchases at a grocery store on Avoca Street on 17 September, a fuel station on Youngman Street on 29 September and a fast-food store on Haley Street on 1 October.

Inspections of the fake notes (pictured) show it to be printed on paper stating the word 'PROPS' with various serial numbers.

Residents and businesses are urged to show care when handling notes and report any suspicious circumstances as soon as possible.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with information that may assist ongoing investigations to contact police.
