Family escapes house fire at Auburn

A crime scene has been established following a house fire in Auburn overnight.

About 8pm (Friday 19 July 2019), emergency services were called to a home on Harrow Road, after reports a home was well light.

Fire fighters attended and extinguished the blaze.

The occupants of the home, a 50-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, and four children aged three, five, seven and 10, escaped the blaze uninjured.

Surrounding properties were also evacuated.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and commenced investigations into the cause of the incident.

It is believed the fire started in the garage of the home. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
