All eyes were turned to the sky as a constellation of colours erupted over Lismore on Saturday.

Over 300 people braved the cold for the Light Up the Night fireworks spectacular in Lismore on Saturday.

The community celebration featured a free barbecue by the Lismore Football Netball Club, live music by Nick and Pickle, line dancing and children's activities.

The event at Lismore Recreation Reserve was organised by the Lismore Progress Association and supported by Corangamite Shire Council with State Government fire recovery funding.

Mayor Kate Makin said the fun night out brought people together to share a sense of community.

"It was great to see the community out and about and enjoying a family-friendly event together. It was a fantastic vibe.

"The fireworks were amazing. Thanks to Mitch Prewett, who did the pyrotechnics, and all the organisers.

"Thanks also to the CFA and SES who were there to help people with tips and advice about fire and emergency preparedness, as well as Australian Red Cross and VCC Emergencies Ministry who provided wellbeing support."
