Officers from the Cairns Property Crime Unit, Tactical Crime Unit and Far North Dog Squad arrested 28-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman and a 24-year-old at a Rigg Street address last night, 1 October.
Around 10pm police attempted to intercept a Kia Sportage on Mulgrave Road, near the corner of Barr Street, when the vehicle allegedly accelerated away at high speed on the wrong side of the road.
The vehicle was tracked to a Rigg Street unit complex where it was abandoned.
Police Dog DJ and his handler were called to the scene and after a short track located the three occupants of the vehicle a short distance away.
It will be further alleged police located a quantity of methylamphetamine and scales on the ground nearby.
The man was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of vehicle with prior conviction, evasion at night with previous conviction, unlicensed driving and two counts of breach of bail.
The 25-year-old woman was charged with one count each of fail to appear, possess dangerous drugs and possess drug utensils.
Both were refused bail and will appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court today, 2 October.
The 24-year-old woman was charged with four counts of breach of bail and is due to appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court on 17 October.
Investigations into the methylamphetamine are ongoing.
