Fatal caravan fire investigation, Upper Brookfield

Police are investigating the cause of a caravan fire in Upper Brookfield this morning which claimed the lives of two people.

Police and emergency services were called to the Galvin Road address around 4.30am, with a caravan well alight.

Multiple fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze quickly and responding paramedics treated a man for burns to his hands who was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Two people were unaccounted for and were found deceased within the caravan, which was completely destroyed with parts of the roof collapsed.

A crime scene has been declared as investigations continue to determine the cause of the fire and whether it's suspicious.

Investigators appeal for witnesses, including passing motorists with dashcam and nearby residents with relevant CCTV to come forward
