Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are investigating a collision in Reservoir this evening, Victoria Police say.
It is believed a ute and a car collided head on about 6.30pm on Plenty Road near Chaleyer Street.
The yet to be identified passenger in the car died at the scene, the driver has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The male driver of the ute has been taken to hospital with minor injuries, the male passenger was not injured.
The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined and is being investigated.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage from the area is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
