Fatal Crash Angle Vale

A man has died following a crash at Angle Vale this morning.

Just before 10.30am on Friday 1 May, police were called to Curtis Road near Julian Road after a Holden sedan crashed into a stobie pole. The impact of the crash caused the Holden to ignite.

The driver was able to safely escape the vehicle but unfortunately the passenger was trapped in the burning vehicle.

Despite efforts of police and members of the public, the fire could not be extinguished until MFS arrived at the scene.

Sadly, a 29-year-old man from Brahma Lodge died at the scene.

The driver, a 22-year-old man from Penfield, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Curtis Road is closed between Frisby Road and Heaslip Road while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene.

The man's death is the 41st life lost on SA roads this year.
