Fatal Crash at South Burnett Draws Police Response 21 August

Two men have died following a two-vehicle traffic crash in the South Burnett this morning, 21 August.

Around 5:50am, police and emergency services were called to the Daguilar Highway at Nukku, following reports of a head-on crash between a fuel tanker and a heavy rigid transport truck.

The driver of the fuel tanker, a man aged in his 50's sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the heavy rigid transport truck, a man aged in his 30's also sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved.

The highway currently remains closed in both directions.

Officers from the Toowoomba Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) are investigating.

Anyone with relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
