Sadly, an 83 year old Newstead man died following a two vehicle crash on Evandale Road, Western Junction today, Tasmania Police say.
At 3pm on Thursday 22 October 2017, a silver Jaguar sedan was travelling north on Evandale Road at Western Junction, when it collided with the rear of a white Mazda utility, travelling in the same direction.
The collision caused both vehicles to lose control before finally coming to rest on the adjacent verge. At the time of the crash the silver Jaguar contained 2 occupants and the white Mazda contained just 1.
A result of the crash an 83 year old man from the Newstead area was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deceased was driver of the Jaguar vehicle and early indications suggest he suffered a fatal medical episode prior to impact.
Tasmania Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
