Investigations are underway following a fatal crash in the state’s far northwest today, NSW Police say.
About 2am (Saturday 3 February 2018), emergency services responded to reports of a truck and car crash on the Newell Highway, about 20km south of Moree.
Initial investigations suggest the driver of the car crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with the truck.
The male driver of the car died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to Moree Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
The Newell Highway is blocked in both directions and is expected to be for some time while officers investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
