Fatal crash in state's south west, NSW

Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to a fatal crash in the state’s south west today, NSW Police say.


About 4pm today, a Mitsubishi Lancer was travelling along Spring Driver, Mulwala (almost 100km west of Albury), when it left the road and hit a tree.

Emergency services were called and two children were treated. One of the children a 3-year-old boy died at the scene. The second child, a 4-year-old boy was taken to Albury Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The driver, a 40-year-old man, was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital for treatment.

Officers from Albury Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

An investigation is underway. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
