Fatal crash - Kemps Creek, NSW

A two-year-old girl has died and eight other people were injured following a serious crash at Kemps Creek today, NSW Police say.

About 1.30pm (Tuesday 28 November 2017), police and emergency services responded to a two-vehicle crash on Mamre Road, near Abbotts Road.

The crash involved a passenger van carrying nine people and a commercial van with two people.

Three children - two boys aged nine months and three years, and a two-year-old girl – were taken to Westmead Hospital but the girl died after arriving at hospital.

A 59-year-old man with critical injuries and a 23-year-old woman with leg injuries were taken to Liverpool Hospital, as were a 20-year-old woman, a 16-year-old boy and two girls aged 16 and 10 who suffered minor injuries.

The two occupants of the commercial van were not injured.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit examined the scene this afternoon and are continuing to investigate all circumstances surrounding the crash.

They are asking any person who witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken to police to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
