A report will be prepared for the Coroner following a fatal crash near Lake Macquarie this morning, NSW Police say.
About 8.10am today, a 59-year-old man from Mayfield was driving a Toyota Camry north on Lake Road, Glendale.
About 100 meters north of Main Road it appears the vehicle has crashed into a fence and a sign post on the side of the road.
A witness stopped and rendered assistance until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.
The man was taken to John Hunter Hospital but he was unable to be revived.
Investigations continue.
