Police are investigating a fatal crash in Underwood this morning, Tasmania Police say.
At around 5:25am a red Suzuki Swift was travelling south on Lilydale Road, Underwood. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was a 65-year-old man from Lalla.
The driver has lost control and crossed onto the incorrect side of the road impacting an embankment on the roadside.
Tasmania Police, Tasmania Fire Service and Ambulance Tasmania attended the crash. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Crash Investigation and Forensic Services attended the scene. Early indications indicate that excessive speed was a factor in the crash.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
