Fatal Crash - Pipers River Road, Turners Marsh, TAS

Police are investigating a fatal crash on Pipers River Road, Turners Marsh, in which a 22 year old Underwood man was killed, Tasmania Police say.

At about 12:45am on Thursday 27 September 2018, a red Toyota Landcruiser utility was travelling north on Pipers River Road, Turners Marsh.

The driver lost control and crossed onto the incorrect side of the road causing the vehicle to roll over.

Sadly, a 22 year old Underwood man who was driving the vehicle died. Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.

A passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash was unharmed.

Tasmania Police, Tasmania Fire Service and Ambulance Tasmania attended the crash.  The passenger was transported to the Launceston General Hospital with minor injuries and later discharged.  The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Crash Investigation and Forensic Services attended the scene. A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
