Fatal fail to stop crash in Guildford

Police are on the scene of a fatal pedestrian crash in Sydney’s west, in which the vehicle involved failed to stop, NSW Police say.

About 8.50pm today, a 66-year-old woman was struck by a motor vehicle at the intersection of Hawksview and Cecil Streets, Guildford.

She sustained serious injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital, where she later died.

The vehicle involved left the scene after the crash, and was last seen heading west on Hawksview Street.

Police from Holroyd Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit also attended and are conducting inquiries at the scene.
