Fatal hit-and-run crash in Orange

Police are investigating, after a woman died in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Orange last night, NSW Police say.

About 10.20pm yesterday, emergency services were called to Summer Street, near the intersection of Hill Street, after the body of a woman was located on the road by a passing motorist.

Officers attended and located the body of a 36-year-old woman.

A crime scene was established and investigations commenced.

Initial investigations suggest the woman walked from a nearby motel, before she was struck by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle allegedly failed to stop, following the crash.

At this stage no witnesses have been identified and no description of the car involved in the crash is available.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
